“ Haven't been to Jimmy Buff's in too long. Saturday found me in West Orange just as they were opening, and serving early birds! A double Italian Hot Dog, fully loaded sounded like a great way to start the day. Same great taste and filling! Friendly staff either sit inside or "to-go" and enjoy your meal outside. Right around the corner from the Thomas Edison National Museum, so make a day of it next time. Bon Appetit! ”
“ Born and raised in Newark ..so i remember the origina el place on 14th st and 9th av...would get out of school West Side High walk a few blocks and half the school would be there class of 75...just ordered 2 singles..still the best ”
“ Get a cheesesteak double I promise you won't regret it. To share or just indulge by yourself , quite messy but very fulfilling. Staff is very friendly , great service. ”
“ Haven't been here for at least five years. A friend posted on Facebook and created my urge so I had to satisfy the craving today. Let's start with this location (West Orange) is still cash only (wow-2025) if you order at the physical location. Not to worry if you don't have cash, for your convenience ("") there is a boot legged atm attached at the front entrance (miss me on that). Come on Mr. Buff it's time to utilize technology for your customers convenience to utilize in person (apple-pay/credit card machine /tap and pay on-site). Having said that, I went with the single Italian dog all the way. Trust me this is more than enough with the grease and potatoes spare yourself the extra calories by not purchasing the humongous double. As usual the dog did not disappoint. It takes you right back to your childhood taste wise all the way back to Newark. Keep up the original flavor/ product Mr. Buff, great job. Well worth the trip if you have not had an authentic NJ Italian hotdog. Just remember to bring cash if you don't use their "orderJimmybuffs.com" Which allows for door dash delivery and credit card payment! ”
“ Best to make your way to the other side of West Orange on Thursday for those AMAZING year-of-birth BOGO prices but like all good trashy & tasty NJ joints, there's no room for hesitation at the counter. Deep fried Italian dogs may just be the only menu item. There's definitely a lot let grease used than years past so there's not much to absorb in those pizza bread rolls so you'll need to pile on the ketchup & mustard if that's your jam. ”
“ Stop by for a national hotdog day the place was crowded. We didn't mind waiting for these great culinary treats. Service was friendly and courteous. The combo sandwich sausage and hotdogs were fantastic. You gotta give this place a try ”
“ This place has been in my bookmarks for a very long time and I finally made it here! I came for a latish lunch on a Wednesday, so there were no crowds. I don't know anything about the area and coming in from the side I was wondering if the address was correct or the place was even open - it was on both counts. The building is small to the point where if you have trouble parking you might be best returning on a different time or day, that's for sure. Inside, you feel out of place. Where is the menu? A bit off to the left side, and it doesn't tell you much. Okay, a double hot dog. Everything on it? No mustard. That seemed to work. Cash is the only way to get to the eating part of the journey so take that into account too when you visit. The meal is an experience. Those double dogs were buried in a huge piece of bread and covered with the potatoes and everything else it came with. You will eventually get to them and most likely you are going to need that fork it comes served with. The best thing I ever had? No, but again, it's an experience. Even if you don't fall in love with it, you need to fall in love with the fact that it exists. ”
“ As a lover of Italian sandwiches and a Philadelphian living in the Apple, I dont know how I missed the Italian hot dog until this week. We mase the pilgrimage to the Washington Street location. Plumped for two combos and a single hot dog. Friendly service and in a few minutes sandwiches arrived. The bread reminded me of a boule and gave adequate support to the heavy fillings. The flavor of the hot dog was lost, but the savory sausage shined through. I could have used a bit more of the sautéed peppers and onions. The potatoes were a little too plentiful, but were the best part. Well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I regretted leaving a few behind. Overall an experience I would repeat, but I might try the Kenilworth location for a nicer venue. ”
“ This place will never get old. Since I was visiting g family, I had to stop by one of my favorite places. There is plenty of parking in their lot. The workers are very friendly and always have a smile on their faces. I ordered a single hotdog with potatoes and onions. ”
